DR STEPHEN WITHERS

Dr Stephen Withers is a Queensland medical graduate who trained at the Royal Brisbane, Royal Children's, Sydney Children's Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital. Dr Withers completed 2 year long Post FRACP Fellowships, one at the Hereditary Cancer Clinic at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney and the other at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. Dr Withers was awarded the inaugural Royal Children’s Hospital Travelling Scholarship in 1998. In 2003 Dr Withers was awarded a Churchill Fellowship. Dr Withers is a Fellow of the Human Genetics Society of Australia and has a special interest in Cancer and Neuro genetics.
DR ANDREA HAYWARD
PhD MSc (Hons) MHGSA
Andrea worked as a scientist and then gained a Masters (Hons) in Science in Genetics Counselling and is a Member of the Human Genetics Society of Australia. Her Honours degree investigated men’s understanding of an inheritable genetic mutation affecting their fertility. Andrea gained a PhD researching the social factors influencing women’s decisions to delay childbearing and the medical, genetic and personal outcomes of decisions relating to the timing of childbearing. Andrea is a Semester Teaching Fellow in Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine at the Bond University Medical School and a Researcher with the Australian Pet Welfare Foundation.
